Jan Roehl has spent most of her life around horses and the racetrack. Jan began riding as a young girl and during her teens she began teaching and managing a small equestrian program. Jan competed for over ten years through the preliminary 3-day event level.

Jan’s involvement with horses has grown through the years. Her track experience began with exercising horses in the early mornings at the famous venues of Saratoga, Belmont Park and Hialeah. She then went on to manage a major national racing stable, including winning the Kentucky Derby in 1991 with Strike the Gold. Since 1994, Jan has been heavily involved in the thoroughbred horse auction scene working for Vinery, Eaton and the largest consignor, Taylor Made. She recently has taken the position of “assistant clocker” during the spring and fall Keeneland meets.

After a highly successful 30+ year career in the advertising industry, Al Roehl left the corporate world in 2005, and became more heavily involved with his passion ; thoroughbreds. During his tenure in advertising, Al held various titles including CEO, Executive Vice President Global Operations, and Global Managing Director. He was the senior leader and strategic advisor to such prestigious clients as Kellogg, Procter and Gamble, Disney, Nintendo, Polaroid and Toyota.

Al grew up loving horses and horse racing. He took that passion to another level when he became Thoroughbred horse owner and the Manager of a successful national racing syndicate. His first race horse won a stakes race as a 2YO and there was “no looking back”.
