The goal of Columbus Circle Partners is to enjoy owning and racing thoroughbreds, while having a constant target of increasing their value for resale.

We purchase thoroughbreds at auction to either pinhook (i.e. sell at a later date either through another auction, or privately) or race. We will not participate in breeding or stallion syndication. If we are fortunate enough to have a horse worthy of becoming a stallion or a broodmare, we would sell him/ her and divide the proceeds.

Our strategy is twofold:

First, buy horses that should be very competitive at the highest levels of racing (allowance level and have a shot to get to the stakes level). Our selection process is very thorough and based on a number of factors. Two key criteria are pedigree and conformation. We look for the horses that have good bloodlines and look like athletes.

Second, sell the horse when the value appears maximized. This means we could sell them in a 2 year old in training sale (before they ever race), or privately prior to, or during their race careers.

For the horses that don't live up to expectations, we would either put them into claiming races or, again, sell at auction.
